Myself as a Reader and a Writer by Bryn Finucane

I would describe myself as a reader who only reads the required material. I used to love to read, but as I have gotten older, reading has become more of chore than anything else. To me, it has become much more difficult. When a book is interesting and enjoyable then I don't mind reading it. But often times I cannot find the right book for me. As a writer, I would say that my skills have definitely improved over the years. However I continue to struggle with the very common "writer's block". For me, speaking is the easiest. When I write, what I am trying to say and what I actually end up saying are two completely different ideas. Now, Facebook is an addiction that I just can't quit. It is beneficial in the way that it allows me to keep in touch with close friends but it has done nothing to help improve my writing. Facebook and AIM have taught us that improper punctuation and slang terms are acceptable and standard. And because of the amount of time that I spend on a computer, I don't even bother writing anything on paper anymore.
