My encounters with Drugs and Gang Members By Matt Piechoski
I have had many experiences with people involved with drugs and gangs. My father grew up in different parts of Philly, and has family scattered all over the city. After my father returned from the Army, he decied that it was not the best place for him to be to get a fresh start in life. Most of his brothers and sisters did the same when they were able, but most of his cousins still reside in Philly and their childern have grown up in the streets. Two of his cousins have died of drug overdoes, one did not start taking drugs untill his son was killed in gang by another gang, another second cousin in jail for drug trafficing. My father moved away so his children would have to grow up around those situations. Now we live in a wealthy area, and in high school, i knew many kids who did coke and exctacy. One kid died the summer after graduation after taking coke mixed with another substance. If one of my friends were to become involved with drugs or gangs, i would try to help them deal with any problems or issues, but if they refused herlp or continuied in their actions, i would try to put distance in our relationship. As for the governments envolvment, i believe that for those caught for selling should be punished to the full extent, and those victum of drug abuse made aware of what is going to happen to them if countinued use, by any means, and help them to become clean
